“The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
What about you...got a big dream? One that scares you?
I have a big dream. And it does scare me. And at this moment, I have no way of achieving it, but I am determined. Hubby says I'm stubborn, but I prefer very determined. He would probably say it's the same thing but determined has a positive vibe to it so that is what I'm going with.
Here's the thing though...If I don't act on my dream, it will always be a dream. There must be planning, there must be doing. But not too much planning or doing things to just be doing things. Spinning our wheels just to be doing won't get us anywhere. It's a balance thing.
One of the "7 Decisions" in The Traveler's Gift is to "Persist Without Exception." I read that the general entrepreneur fails an average of right at four times before success. Here's where the persisting without exception comes into play. If we persist, without exception, we will achieve our dreams and goals.
Yes, we may hit a brick wall or two. Yes, we may stumble and fall. Yes, we may even fail and have to reexamine our dreams. But, we can never give up.
So, dream big. Dream so big it scares you. Then plan, work, and make those dreams happen.
Got a big dream? Want to share it? I'd tell you mine but it's too scary.
